Elections Markham now hiring
For Immediate Release
MARKHAM, ON – July 27, 2022 – The 2022 Markham Municipal Election is right around the corner! Once again, Elections Markham is looking for passionate, tech-savvy and customer service-oriented people to play an important role in local democracy. Work at a Voting Place in Markham on October 20, 21, 22 and 24 from 9 AM to 9 PM.
The temporary paid positions available include Deputy Returning Officers, Tabulator Officers, Revision Officers and Customer Service Officers.
You can work at a Voting Place if you are:
- At least 16 years old by October 20, 2022;
- Legally allowed to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number;
- Vaccinated with a full series of COVID-19 vaccines (i.e., both doses of a 2-dose vaccine or 1 dose of a single dose vaccine);
- Not related to or affiliated with a candidate or third party advertiser in the 2022 Markham Municipal Election; and,
- Able to attend online or in-person training before your first shift.
Hiring will start in late August, and training will take place in September. Most of the positions involve computers, so applicants should be comfortable working with technology.
